How to work with old file formats

What can you do when your old files don't work on the new PC you bought because the applications have changed? Take a hard example: The spreadsheets on your old computer were done in Excel, but your new one only has Microsoft Works. What can you do? It may be trivial, or it may be more tedious, but you can usually find a way.

Audio CDs, MP3 files, etc.

You can "rip" audio tracks from your music CDs, convert them to much smaller MP3 files, and burn dozens of them to one CD. Find out how to do it and how to play them. Most newer CD players, including those in cars will now play CDs with MP3 files on them. Of course you can also load MP3s on portable players. [more]
