A. Their have a good explanation of why using an antenna is a good idea.AND REMEMBER IF YOU DO NOT SPEND YOUR $$$$ YOUR KIDS WILL!!!!!
B. The link to "antenna.com" ( I think that's right) will show you just what of antenna you need once you put your address in.
C. The TERK outdoor antenna I chose has a small amplifier that was useful for two reasons. 1) we are 29.9 miles from South Mt. where the antennas are located. 2) they are ALL THERE at 123 degrees magnetic and the TERK DIRECTIONAL antenna and works great.
D. On my awning roof I aim across 30+ feet of aluminum so I had to aim the TERK upward about 25-30 degrees to avoid "multi-path" signals. (If it's possible to mount it on the east end it should do better).
E. The small amplifier was needed to bring in all of the channels.
F. I culled out all except the HDTV: CBS is 5.1, FOX is 10.1, NBC is 12.1, ABC is 15.1, and PBS is 8.1, 8.2, & 8.3!
G. Otherwise, when I switch from HDTV to regular on my remote CBS 5.1 becomes regular channel 5.
H. To accomplish this I suggest a HDTV set with a "built in tuner" an either 720p or 1080p picture.
