ActiveX:

Q: I switched to Mozilla Firefox. Now, when I try to update my anti-virus program, I get an error message. Why?

A: The anti-virus site probably uses an ActiveX control. These little programs facilitate interactivity between Web sites and your computer. They are also considered a security weakness, so Firefox does not accommodate them. Use Internet Explorer on any site that requires an ActiveX control. Windows Update is another example of such a site. -- Kim Komando, USA Today

system.
