The Great Pumpkin pointed out that I omitted the time and place for our next event in last week's newsletter. You'll find it directly below in this special issue. Now, off to have some pie. :-)

"What to do when you PC locks up"

I recently stumbled on a good idea to use for a class on "Building a Personal Website". That idea soon got me into preparing for the whole class. Somehow, I started to think that the website class was what I had scheduled for December 5th and 7th. So, I tried to fit the class into two days. (Of course, that's when our "Registry" class is scheduled.)
In the process, I realized it was not feasible to squeeze a viable website class into two days. Not if most students were going to end up building one on their own. :-(
It will take a five day class to get website students off to the right start. There are many facets of webpages to understand, and they also need to learn how to set up and run the website itself. We'll get this class scheduled soon.
I'll post a questionnaire on the bulletin board in the Chaparral Room to help narrow the choices for other Internet classes. (Meanwhile, back to preparing for the registry class.)
Microsoft is getting closer to releasing Internet Explorer 7.0. It will finally bring tabbed browsing, and more importantly better security to IE. Mozilla is will release Firefox 1.5 soon, likely on November 29. Both browsers are a rebuild from the bottom up. We'll see which one has the best security after they are both released.
