*Note from Activities*
"Your generous gift of $150 to Happy Trails Activities Fund is much appreciated. Its use will be determined by the Activities Committee and proposed to the HTCA Board for its approval to benefit the most residents. " --Brent Hendrickson

Ever wished you could easily find something from a previous issue of CyberCoyote? We now have a special search for the CyberCoyote archive. The search has a homepage, or you can always find it at the top of the HTCC "News" page. Try it the next time you're looking for something.

*Almost Free*
Normally, I don't promote software here. (I do recommend, but that's a little different.) Here's an exception: Sunbelt Software's CounterSpy was already a bargain, but this offer makes it easy to try for a year. I use CounterSpy on all my computers now because it is consistently rated at the top of it's class and it's easy to live with.
This upgrade offer is good even if you're using one of the free antispyware programs now. The catch is, it will cost $19.95 to renew your subscription at the end of a year, but that's also a bargain compared to others. Offer good until the end of June.

*How to Do Windows*
Microsoft keeps improving ways to locate what you need from the vast amount of information they have online. It's still hard to find the best entry points though. Their "Windows Help and How-to" is one good place to start. There's everything there from "Hardware and drivers" to "Music and sounds."

*Tips for Getting Past Some of the Hassles of Buying a New PC*
"Whew! The new Windows Vista operating system, five years in the making, is finally out and preloaded on new PCs from every major Windows computer maker. After months of uncertainty and delay, you can go forth with confidence and buy a new computer, right? Well, it's not that simple." --Walt Mossberg in "All Things Digital"http://ptech.allthingsd.com/20070419/new-pc-hassles/ -- source
*Registry Cleaners*
Are Registry cleaners worthwhile? That's a question that comes up at club meetings from time to time, and a question that Fred Langa answers. Personally, I've had good luck with "jv16 PowerTools" -- the one he recommends. There are two jv16 versions, which he describes in his full article.

*Windows Live Hotmail*
Even if you're satisfied with your current email setup, you should take a look at the new Hotmail. I know this sounds like a beer ad, but the new one is a crisp, clean update from your typical Webmail service. Hotmail looks, feels and works much like a computer-based email program. And it ties in with a lot of other useful Microsoft services. (You might like the Yahoo! version better. It's the one that I use.)

*Batteries*
What's your first reaction -- run to the store or look on the Internet? If you need a new battery or accessories for your iPod, PDA, Laptop, Camcorder, Cell Phone, etc. you might find it at "Laptops for Less". You may save some serious money too. On the other hand, you may wreck your gadget. ;-)
