Google has been very busy for several years. They have become the 500 pound gorilla of the Internet. Their services are marked by two characteristics -- they're innovative, and they work. There are so many now that it's hard to find them all before you get lost, unless you know where to look. http://www.google.com/ -- Google home page
The first one isn't so hard to find. Above the search box at the Google home page you'll see | Images | Video | News | Maps | more » |. Click "more »" and you'll see some more special searches listed, and also "even more »". Click that and you'll see a large page of Google services -- everything from Google Earth to Web Accelerator. http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/ -- more Google products
Hidden behind some of the "products" listed on that page you'll find even more. Click the "Labs" icon to see an example: you'll find things like Google Reader (a great web feed reader), and Google Page Creator (make your own website).

The Google Help Center is the main place to find help with Google searches, for example, the basics of search. You'll also find many specialized search features there too. http://www.google.com/help/features.html -- The Google Help Center
Google also makes it easy for others to use Google technology to create useful or entertaining "mashups". "50 Things to do with Google Maps Mashups" from the Google Maps Mania blog are some good examples.
