NEWS, NOTES and NOTICES

*Photo Editing Programs*
George Jester gave us a rundown of some great digital photo editing programs today. What a great collection. I have used, or known about all but a couple of them. Don't be put off by the word free -- these programs are works of passion. I converted his "ReadMe" file to a rough web page so you can investigate or download them yourself. Of course you can always get the CD from George instead.

TIPS, TOPICS and TWEAKS

*Search Mashup*
A "secret" Google site with all sorts of fun search features. (Mash is the buzzword for mix-and-match Web tricks.)

*Airport Parking and More*
AboutAirportParking has parking information for most of the airports you'll use. You'll find rates at nearby lots and parking directions. There is a map with pointers identifying the parking facilities, and a blue pointer identifying the terminal. The pointer includes a link to the official website for that airport.

TECHNOLOGY

*The Race to Bridge the Computer-to-TV Divide*
David Pogue, a capable but practical technology buff, has been trying out the next generation of TV setups. (Me? I'll just wait until I've watched all "The Sopranos" DVDs from Netflix. :-D )

SECURITY

*Time for a safety check*
You may be the weakest link in your own Email security. "The 25 Most Common Mistakes in Email Security" from IT Security is a rundown on what can go wrong. While it has a bit of business traveler flavor, it an easy way to find out if you've overlooked something important.
